When passing though Loudoun County, one of the first things you’ll notice is that it is consumed by wineries. With so many to choose from, one could easily become overwhelmed. There is one winery in particular that stands above the crowd. 8 Chains North is known to be one of the best wineries to take a large group or to host an event at. There are many qualities about 8 Chains North that make it stand out including:
- A beautiful location
- Delicious wine
- Generous people
- A sophisticated atmosphere
- The vineyard’s manager: Ben Renshaw
When you think of ‘vineyard guy’ you should think of Ben Renshaw. He not only manages all of 8 Chains North’s vineyards but four others as well (a total of 85 acres). Even though Ben manages multiple vineyards, he approaches 8 Chains North differently than all of the others. The philosophy of this winey is to “embody the true spirit of a boutique Virginia farm winery.” Without Renshaw’s hard work the wine at 8 Chains North wouldn’t be as fantastic as it is today.
8 Chains North owns the entire wine-making process, which means:
- They own it.
- They plant it.
- They grow it.
- They make it.
- They sell it.
Few local vineyards can say that and it is an extreme source of pride to not only 8 Chains North employees and customers, but to the local community as well.
Like stated earlier, one aspect that 8 Chains North is notable for is their event space. From wedding to private parties, and even corporate events; their space provided will match any need. Many claim that the view of the backyard is almost as spectacular as the wine itself. 8 Chains North would be a great place for a large group to get together to taste some delicious wine.
8 Chains North is open:
- Monday, Thursday and Friday from 12 p.m.-6 p.m.
- Saturday and Sunday from 11 a.m.-6 p.m.
- Tuesday and Wednesday by appointment.
It costs an individual $5 to taste the wine, but if you have a group of ten or more it will cost each person $10. Beyond just wine, the venue also has food for its guest to munch on while they are there. Dogs are allowed on the premise as long as they are well behaved and on a leash. More details can be found on their website.
