Sterling Park HOMES
Marvin T. Broyhill, Jr. and his father decided to buy and incorporated Sterling Park Development Corporation late in 1961. Between April 28 and December 29 of that year, they purchased 14 parcels for $2,115,784 and an additional 226 acres, along Route 7, for $384,200, making it $1700.00 per acre.
With the development of Sterling Park east of Route 28, and they had to build their own through road which is today’s Sterling Boulevard. “The Park,” as it had come to be known, had reached 5,000 by that period of time. One of the first planned communities built in eastern Loudoun County, Sterling Park became a popular place for government workers to settle with their families outside the Capital area. Creating quite a community within itself, Sterling Park contained a variety of businesses, churches, parks, a community center, a semi-private golf club featuring two pools and tennis courts, and schools. It is the home of the Park View High School Patriots, most storied athletic reputation in Loudoun County, and have won more state titles than any other Loudoun County school.
